Hermes swallowed his laughter as he peered at the warm, sexy, drunk woman moving on his lap. He’d never been the gentleman before, but she brought out the best in him. His honorable resolve crumbled little by little. Her wriggling didn’t help matters. To calm himself and Cassandra, he stroked her back. “Hermes.” A shocked voice echoed over the balcony. “A mortal? Eeew, you don’t know where she’s been.”

Hermes dragged his mind and his cock away from the temptation of Cassandra and paid attention to the owner of the voice. A party of three tall, blonde women in sheer dresses stared back at him.

“Damn it.” Cursing, he tried to maneuver Cassandra off his lap. She’d hidden her face in his chest, embarrassed. He hoped they’d give up and go away, but nymphs were curious, and since he’d dated all three at one time in the past, they were understandably nosy.

“Ah, ladies, how are you?”

“Hermes, we’re disappointed in you. If you wanted sex all you had to do was ask instead of grabbing the first body that turns out to be mortal. Yuck, you don’t know what sort of germs she has.”

Lia strolled over to Hermes and caressed his jaw. Cassandra slid off his lap then faced the other woman, cracking her knuckles. This would not go well, and by the fire in Cassandra’s eyes, the catfight was on for mortal and demi-goddess alike.

Hermes’ stunned surprise at their interruption changed to concern for Cassandra. Lia was a vicious enemy if offended and she’d wanted more than Hermes had given. She hungered for his status and power, and a formal commitment. But something had always stopped him committing to her. Somehow Cassandra was different. He’d have to keep an eye on his little Oracle.
